Maintenance Technician

Position Type: Full-time

Shift Hours: First 6:00 am - 2:30 pm , Second Shift 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm

 

Position Description:

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to include:  install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the company business goals and objectives

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilities equipment. Working with a variety of pumps, electric heaters/controllers, vacuum pumps, conveying systems, oven, water treatment systems, analysis and instrumentation.
  • Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machines service.
  • Perform mechanical skills including but not limited to: mechanical, electrical power, plumbing for city water DI water, Chilled water, pump out stations, control wiring, and ventilation as needed.
  • Remove and install new equipment and provide utilities including: electrical power, plumbing for city water, DI water, chilled water, pump out stations, control wiring, and ventilation as needed.
  • Work with Engineering to design product flow through equipment installations.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals/ work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities, to include a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material; report any unusual situations to supervisor
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Order and stock critical repair parts for all equipment and facility repairs

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 years experience required or equivalent
  • Experience in electrical wiring and troubleshooting, plumbing (both facility and equipment), and mechanical skills with hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions
  • Ability to speak, read, and neatly write English
  • Ability to process high school level mathematics
  • Ability to work together as part of a team under limited supervision or independently

 

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications etc.: preferred but not required

 

Required Internal Training:

  • HCI Orientation
  • All pertaining process procedures that relate to job function

 

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, a depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration.  The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
