Position Description:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented PCB Manufacturing Engineer to join our manufacturing team at Hughes Circuits Inc. In this role you will be responsible for supporting and improving PCB fabrication processes, troubleshooting production issues, developing manufacturing procedures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and CAM/Planning teams to ensure products are manufactured efficiently while meeting customer and quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain PCB manufacturing processes and procedures
- Support daily production operations by troubleshooting process and equipment-related issues
- Analyze manufacturing data and recommend improvements to increase quality, yield, and efficiency
- Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications
- Work with CAM, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure manufacturability of customer designs
- Investigate root causes of process failures and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Support new product introductions and process validation activities
- Monitor process performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Assist with equipment qualification, maintenance planning, and process optimization
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality procedures
- Participate in cost reduction, yield improvement, and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Follow company policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties
Minimum Qualifications:
- Able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
- Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications Etc. (preferred but not required)
J-STD 001 Certified
Familiar with BOMs, Drawings, Schematics
Smart Tweezers and Calipers
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
- Ability to work together as part of a team under limited supervision or independently
Beneficial Skills and Experience:
- Basic computer skills
- 2+years of experience in PCB fabrication or electronics manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting manufacturing processes in a production environment
- Familiarity with PCB fabrication processes including imaging, drilling, plating, etching, solder mask, routing, and final inspection
- Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of IPC standards and PCB manufacturing requirements
- CAD/CAM or PCB manufacturing software experience is a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
